Key Responsibilities
As the IS Operations Analyst, you will provide Azure platform administration and Infrastructure Operations services across GWF's cloud and on-premises environments. You will act as the Azure SME, taking ownership and accountability for Azure environments including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Arc, identity management, security management, governance and platform optimisation. Working within a high-volume 24/7 operational environment, you will support business-as-usual operations, incident and problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to partner with stakeholders across the business while ensuring the availability, security and performance of critical infrastructure services.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Provide Azure platform administration and Infrastructure Operations services across GWF's cloud and on-premises environments.
- Manage and support Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Hypervisor (Azure Local/Native), Windows Server operating systems, SCCM/Intune, storage and recovery technologies.
- Proactively monitor and resolve technical issues across GWF's infrastructure environment, including on-premises platforms, Windows Server services, Azure services and related cloud infrastructure.
- Serve as the Azure Platform SME, providing technical ownership, guidance and accountability for the Azure platform and its ongoing operational health.
- Collaborate with IS Security teams to align with and support GWF and ABF security policy and posture, including Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, privileged access, conditional access and identity governance controls.
- Execute and improve day-to-day operational tasks and activities including patching, monitoring, capacity planning, tuning and performance.
- Actively lead and develop strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives within infrastructure environments, including on-premises platforms, Windows Server services, Azure services and cloud infrastructure.
- Effectively liaise with third-party providers and external organisations to ensure efficient resolution of issues and provide excellent customer service to all GWF teams
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years' experience as an Azure and Infrastructure Administrator, with Azure platform operations and Microsoft Entra ID as core skillsets.
- Relevant Microsoft Windows Server administration qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Azure platform administration experience and qualifications covering compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, governance, RBAC, cost management and automation.
- Demonstrated experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, identity lifecycle management, MFA, Conditional Access and access management.
- Relevant Azure Local or Native qualifications or demonstrated administration experience, together with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) administration experience or qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with VMware, SCCM/Intune, Cisco networking and related on-premises and cloud technologies will be highly regarded.
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification or demonstrated experience operating within change and incident management processes is desirable
