We’re looking for a Food Safety & Quality Manager to lead quality and food safety performance at our Chullora bakery - a large, fast-paced manufacturing site.
Reporting to the Regional Food Safety & Quality Manager, this role partners closely with site leaders and operational teams to strengthen capability, improve ways of working and drive continuous improvement across the business. You’ll play a key leadership role on site, influencing outcomes through strong relationships, technical credibility and a hands-on approach.
This role requires someone who can confidently engage stakeholders at all levels, challenge constructively, navigate complexity and bring teams on the journey to achieve strong food safety and quality outcomes.
You’ll also lead and develop a direct report, providing coaching, guidance and support to build capability and ensure strong performance across the quality function.
Purpose of the Role
- Partner with site leadership to elevate food safety and quality performance
- Drive a proactive food safety and quality culture through coaching, visibility, engagement and continuous improvement
- Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Drive strong HACCP, GFSI and customer audit outcomes, ensuring systems are effective and sustainable
- Lead internal audits, including non-conformance management and follow-through actions
- Use data, trends and insights to identify risks and drive meaningful improvement initiatives
- Support and coach teams to build capability and lift standards across the site
- Develop and mentor a direct report, providing clear direction, feedback, and support
- Contribute to broader site strategy and business performance outcomes
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline
- Experience in food manufacturing / FMCG
- Strong technical capability across HACCP, GFSI standards, audits and quality systems
- Proven ability to influence and build credibility across cross-functional teams
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage, coach and challenge constructively
- Able to bring others on the journey and guide outcomes through collaboration
- Previous experience coaching or mentoring team members
- Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
