We're looking for a commercially minded Operations Finance Business Partner who thrives on influencing operational performance. Working as a trusted advisor to bakery leadership, you'll turn financial insights into action, helping drive productivity, cost efficiency and profitable growth across one of Australia's largest bakery operations.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager – North East, this is a hands-on role where you will partner closely with Operations, asking the right questions, uncovering insights and providing meaningful financial analysis, reporting and decision support to drive performance, improve cost efficiency and influence business outcomes.
Purpose of the Role
- Proactively partner with site Operations teams to improve financial and operational performance
- Provide timely financial reporting, analysis and commercial insights that influence operational decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and weekly latest estimates, ensuring robust financial planning.
- Identify and drive cost-saving and profit improvement opportunities
- Develop business cases and financial models to support capital investment and operational initiatives.
- Support month-end processes, reporting, and reconciliations
- Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls and audit readiness.
- Influence stakeholders by translating data into clear, commercial insights
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years’ experience in finance or business partnering within FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar environment
- Naturally curious with the confidence to challenge assumptions, ask insightful questions and influence better commercial decisions.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into practical business recommendations.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of simplifying processes and driving efficiencies.
- CA/CPA/CIMA qualified (essential)
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (SAP preferred)
- Build trusted relationships with Operations leaders, challenging constructively while supporting informed commercial decision-making.
- Focus on financial governance and stewardship
- Hands-on, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
