Production Supervisor

We have an opportunity for a passionate and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team based in Bendigo on a 12 month Fixed term Contract. This role will work on a Sunday – Thursday roster, 11:00 – 19:00 daily.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role coaches all team members to work in a safe, hygienic environment whilst ensuring the safe food and quality products are produced at the lowest cost, on time and in the quantities required to meet the orders of our customers at all times in compliance with our Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and legislation.

Purpose of the Role

  • Lead by example in living the Tip Top values of Safe, Courageous, Trusting and Collaborative, fostering a positive team culture and setting the standard for behaviours and performance across the site.
  • Responsible for leading the production team to ensure efficient, successful and safe operation of product and minimisation of waste
  • Ensure adequate supplies of packing/warehouse consumables are on hand at all times to meet production requirements
  • Build a culture where people act like owners to deliver business goals
  • Consistently provide open and honest, candid feedback ‘in the moment’, recognising people for doing great work, and addressing performance issues early
  • Manage clear expectations for the team, provide appropriate resources and tools to get the job done, along with high support and high challenge
  • Identify and actively promote continuous improvement to product, processes and systems within any facet of the work environment
  • Collaborate with the supply, maintenance, and planning teams to improve productivity and make necessary amendments to the production plan
  • Ensure strict food safety, legality and quality requirements are adhered to 
  • Support change and foster an environment where change is embraced

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • FMCG/food manufacturing experience or qualified baker will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
