Key Responsibilities

The ESG Manager is responsible for leading and embedding GWF’s ethical sourcing framework across its management and legal entities, ensuring compliance with evolving legislation and alignment with Group standards. The role focuses on identifying, assessing and mitigating supply chain human rights and modern slavery risks, implementing the GWF Responsible Code of Conduct, and strengthening monitoring through platforms such as Sedex. It also supports responses to external sustainability, human rights and regulatory requests from governments, investors, customers and other stakeholders. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will: 

• Identify and understand salient ethical sourcing and modern slavery risks, including conducting regular business unit and category-level supply chain risk assessments and developing risk profiles. 
• Lead the rollout and implementation of the GWF Responsible Code of Conduct, ensuring integration into supplier onboarding, contracts and procurement processes, and managing compliance and non-conformance. 
• Implement and manage Sedex across relevant operations and suppliers, including coordinating supplier self-assessments, audits and corrective action plans, and prioritising high-risk suppliers. 
• Develop and implement modern slavery and ethical sourcing training, including role-specific training for procurement, supply chain and leadership teams and tracking completion and effectiveness. 
• Assist the Head of Government Affairs with responses to external sustainability, human rights and ethical sourcing requests, including contributing to modern slavery statements and disclosures. 
• Support engagement with government, industry bodies, investors, customers and other stakeholders while ensuring consistency of messaging and alignment with Group positions. 
• Assist in the coordination, preparation and review of sustainability and ESG disclosures in line with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards and other regulatory frameworks. 
• Maintain documentation, methodologies, assumptions and supporting evidence to meet audit, assurance and regulatory requirements, and support internal reporting and governance forums. 

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree in sustainability, law, supply chain, human rights or a related field. 
• Experience in ethical sourcing, modern slavery or human rights due diligence. 
• Strong understanding of global supply chains, particularly within food or agricultural commodities. 
• Familiarity with modern slavery legislation, reporting frameworks and ESG requirements. 
• Experience using platforms such as Sedex or similar supplier risk tools. 
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguity and deliver pragmatic, risk-based solutions.
