Project Engineer

We are seeking a driven and passionate Capital Projects Engineer to join our team at our Springwood Bakery.  Reporting to the Capital Project Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for the development and safe execution of nominated capital projects and facilitating change management to ensure sustainable benefits. 


Purpose of the Role
•    Deliver capital projects safely, on time, on budget, and to specification, meeting business requirements
•    Engage all stakeholders through the project lifecycle to ensure both robust project scope development and effective communication as the project is implemented
•    Engage project team to ensure safety is forefront in scope development and risks are eliminated wherever possible in good engineering design
•    Provide project and engineering support to the manufacturing sites including feasibility studies, business case development, project planning, project implementation, contractor management, and commissioning and training
•    Prepare layout and process drawings for planning, construction & installation of new equipment and manufacturing facilities
•    Prepare business case papers and technical documentation
•    Negotiation and management of contracts for the supply of equipment and services. Working with legal and procurement support to draft project-specific contracts to mitigate GWF risk
•    Follow internal systems and best practice project management methodologies to execute projects with excellence, meeting time, quality and cost targets
•    Support the continual improvement of our procedures and systems, to maintain best-practice including Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental and Energy management as they relate to this role

 

About You

The ideal candidate will have: 

•    Engineering Degree or equivalent
•    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG, preferably within the food industry will be highly regarded
•    Proven track record in managing complex projects and programs
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a self-starter drive
•    Demonstrated ability to mix professionally and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally
•    Ability to scope, plan and manage complex projects and programs of work
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple stakeholders to achieve deadlines and goals
•    Confident and articulate communicator, with the ability to effectively articulate your ideas and opinions to diverse audiences
