About the role
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Planner for out Townsville site. The primary role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve the reliability team’s productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential breakdowns through planning, scheduling, and coordination of Reliability resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the role is responsible for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all resources to conduct maintenance activities, minimising downtime and maximising productivity. The Planner is empowered to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts and material, define crafts and skills, and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective, and efficient job plan.
The Maintenance Planner is required to routinely perform and or observe PMs performed to better understand ways to streamline or improve existing PM’s.
Key responsibilities of the role:
• Principle contact and liaison between the Reliability Team and Operations planning
• Establish, maintain, and improve MEX CMMS, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process
• Reviews all planned work requests from assigned areas and determine validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources
• Identifies work requiring engineering design and reviews them with the Maintenance Manager
• Obtain and organize all information required for the Trade Team to perform the work
• Identifies and secures all parts and material required to complete the work
• Provide a total cost estimate for the work to be performed: labour, material, and outside services
• Works with Reliability Manager, Supervisors to determine resource availability
• Keep accurate metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports to the Maintenance Manager
About You
• Extensive maintenance planning experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Trade qualified – highly desired
• Experience utilising MEX or similar CMMS
• Experienced in Microsoft office suite. Excel proficient desirable
• Highly organised, able to think strategically as well as problem solve
• Strong ability to build effective internal and external working relationships at all levels
• Effective communication and influencing capability
• Strong safety mindset in all facets of work
• Demonstrated analytical capability and an ability to effectively problem solve
