Maintenance Lead

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the production needs of the Townsville site across all reliability and maintenance activities. The candidate will also ensure equipment optimal performance, minimise downtime, and support safe, efficient operations as well as monitor and support contactors activities on site.
 


Purpose of the Role

 

•    Carry out and oversee maintenance activities, including repairs and preventative maintenance, to ensure equipment reliability.
•    Supervise onsite cleaning operations and ensure standards are met.
•    Manage maintenance contractors.
•    Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of work.
•    Work closely with the site planner to coordinate and deliver engineering and maintenance tasks efficiently.
•    Take ownership of reliability issues by identifying root causes, making informed decisions, and implementing solutions to reduce equipment downtime and optimise resource use. 
•    Ensure all contractor activities comply with company policies while monitoring work onsite.

 

The ideal candidate will have:


•    Mechanical or Electrical trade or engineering background.
•    2+ years of experience within a Maintenance Role.
•    First Aid Certification
•    Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to support the team when system issues arise - required to make quick decisions, and put clear actions into place to proactively address problems daily
•    Exposure in MEX computerised maintenance management system 
•    Willingness to assist with breakdowns where required
