Tip Top Bakeries, a leading division of George Weston Foods, is seeking an experienced Hygiene & Site Services Manager to lead hygiene, sanitation and critical site services at our Carrara bakery. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will drive food safety excellence, safety culture and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our site operates to the highest standards of hygiene, GMP, safety and compliance- supporting operational performance while fostering a high‑engagement, high‑performance team culture.
Purpose of the Role
- Lead and manage all hygiene and site services operations, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, GMP and GHP standards
- Champion health, safety and environmental excellence, ensuring compliance with all legislative and company requirements
- Manage and coordinate site services including pest control, waste management, water treatment, uniforms, fire systems, security and facilities services
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles
- Partner closely with Production, Maintenance, Safety, Quality and Supply Chain teams to support site performance
- Lead, coach and develop the hygiene team, including performance management, engagement and capability building
- Support and participate in internal and external audits (e.g. SQF, BRC, WQA, customer audits)
- Manage labour and operating costs in line with agreed budgets
About You
You are a confident, people focused leader with a strong background in FMCG manufacturing who thrives in operational environments where safety, hygiene and quality are paramount.
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of GMP, food safety systems (HACCP) and hygiene standards
- Proven experience driving a high performing safety culture
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A practical, hands on leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience leading teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives
